Towergate Insurance is an award-winning, multi-accredited UK insurance broker committed to offering a proactive, responsive and reassuring claims service. The organisation provides insurance for business, leisure and partner clients, with many highly recognised and regarded insurers, including but not limited to AVIVA, AXA, RSA, Hiscox, Markel, NIG, Ageas, Allianz, Compass, Zurich and AIG. Areas of specialisation cover home and property, lifestyle, commercial property, business, care and medical, and motor.
Towergate Insurance was adjusting to a new hybrid working model. With around 2,000 employees working remotely (many from home), management wanted to run an employee gifting campaign to make the fragmented workforce feel connected, recognised and valued.
To ensure this campaign’s success and positively impact company culture, Towergate Insurance needed a partner capable of managing every aspect of a large-scale gifting campaign across multiple locations in the UK.
They also required a partner capable of driving this campaign digitally and ensuring all personal data, including employees’ home addresses, were processed in compliance with data protection laws and the GDPR.
Towergate Insurance selected PDS as their project partner due to our ability to manage the process from end to end. We provided a single source solution across creative services, sourcing, storage and fulfilment – offering our client buying power for budget efficiency. We were also able to manage the campaign digitally, to ensure optimum efficiency and cater for the fact that employees were working remotely.
To kick off the campaign, agencyPDS provided creative ideas for the employee communication campaign and the gifting packs. We aimed to offer a personalised experience so Towergate Insurance could express their gratitude meaningfully, and employees received gifts that suited their preferences.
To introduce the gifting experience, agencyPDS created an email-driven branded communication campaign. The first email contained a ‘thank you’ message and allowed employees to select a preferred gift pack from six options.

The PDS development team provided a Towergate Insurance branded PDS+ online ordering platform for the campaign. Each employee was given secure access to the platform, where they could view and select their pack, and place their order using a unique voucher code provided via email.
PDS+ provided a secure environment to process all employees’ data in compliance with data protection laws and the GDPR. Employees received an email confirmation of their choice and delivery details.
A PDS sourcing account management team processed all orders; and picked, packed and fulfilled by the PDS storage and fulfilment team.
