Meet Simon Shenton, Artworker.
Testing times
Media technology graduate Simon has worked in print production in several roles including for Cranfield University and Home Retail Group. He progressed into print operations and systems roles for Cambridge Assessments in Duxford working on the highly sensitive data security and logistics of distributing exam papers all over the UK. Simon moved on to work for a Buckinghamshire-based printer in an art-working role as a Mac operator preparing files pre-flight and overseeing print projects.
Picture perfect
At PDS, Simon spends a lot of time on detailed brochure work and has become involved with product photography for clients and PDS’s own website. Simon enjoys the camaraderie at PDS and the way that everyone in the studio helps each other. He said, “I have learned more from others working at PDS than I have in any of my previous roles. If someone finds a way to make a process easier or do something new, they always share it which makes work enjoyable and life a lot easier."
Artistic licence
Simon enjoys drawing and painting in his spare time and finds watercolours ‘more forgiving’ than other methods. As well as going to the gym, Simon enjoys horror movies and is a keen Stephen King fan. Over the last year, he has begun to enjoy reading more and is looking forward to a return to more frequent cinema visits.
