Meet Lucy Rendall, Account Executive.

Legal challenge

Lucy reached PDS having made a career change from the legal profession. After graduating in law, she spent three months in Australia and then worked for Shoosmiths solicitors for fourteen years progressing to become a conveyancer in charge of a small team. Having originally planned to just switch law firms, Lucy was inspired by her brother Scott’s career at PDS where he was formerly commercial director. Scott’s passion for the business led Lucy to take a dramatic change of direction and she has now been supporting the client services team for four years.

Seasonal selection

Lucy said, “The people at PDS are what makes the company so special, and I feel lucky to work with such lovely colleagues. I have been lucky enough to oversee the production of the PDS annual Christmas hampers for the last few years which is a project I really enjoy. This has been a great foundation for the huge increase in popularity of staff appreciation gifts over the last 12 months. I have worked on some high-profile largescale projects now and it is fantastic that so many companies are really taking the time to show their employees how much they are appreciated.”

In the balance

“I have benefited from a better work/life balance since I joined PDS which is important to me. I have been able to spend more time in the garden where I grow fruit and vegetables making my own jams, chutney, and even flavoured gins from the produce. The pandemic has really made me appreciate where I live, and I do a lot more walking than ever before. Earlier this year, I completed the Walk All Over Cancer challenge which involved clocking up 10,000 steps per day in all weathers. Completing the challenge, I am proud to have raised over £300 for Cancer Research. I am currently halfway through a one million steps challenge that I hope to complete in the next few weeks.”
