David is lead creative at agencypds and oversees the direction of brand concepts for clients across a range of sectors. He is an accomplished graphic designer and specialises in typography. A graduate of the London College of Printing, David has 30 years’ experience working within the creative industry in a variety of design agencies.
Based in London for over 20 years, David worked at Pinewood Studios and for Lippa Pearce Design on the Boots and Halfords brands. He was responsible for creating new own brand lines for Boots Pharmacy, PSD in Richmond and, and later, at Fitch London, worked as a senior designer on projects for Adshel, Hoover, Swatch, and the re-branding of the Brazilian national airline, Varig. David currently works across multiple disciplines including packaging, leading on design for the Booker catering range of over 2,000 products.
Over the last year, David is proud to have completed a major project to redesign the brand guidelines for Forterra, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of building products. The new guidelines informed the relaunch of the business’s website and a contemporary new version of its flagship Brick Guide, one of the company’s most downloaded pieces of collateral.
David said, “As a house of brands, Forterra is home to some of the most iconic and recognisable names in construction including London Brick which has been in continuous production since 1877 and has been used to build around a quarter of all British housing stock. This was a fascinating project, and we were all delighted with the result.”
Design for living
David has an eye for every type of design and has spent the last two years completely transforming his Victorian house into a contemporary and stylish home. He has combined traditional materials such as wood panelling, woodblock flooring, and Crittall-style interior glazing with bright and modern colour schemes including a games room decorated with brilliant yellow walls.
